Biography:

Ginnie Cappaert's captivating art is based on landscapes as a subject, but she is primarily interested in color, texture and abstract forms.  She is an artist who paints the natural environment that surrounds her.  Ginnie expresses her emotions by creatively interpreting the multitude of colors before her.  It is the landscape's imagery and its deep sense of space that she explores in her work by building up thin layers of oil paint and then scraping and dissolving areas, she creates a complex and subtle mix of textures and colors.

The skies, the water, and the trees, as well as her winter home in New Mexico, are her continuing inspiration.  The serenity and contemplative moments she experiences are translated into each painting.  Her original and often colorful paintings reflect the softness of life that she observes.

In the summer, Ginnie paints in her log cabin studio behind her gallery, Cappaert Contemporary Gallery in Egg Harbor, Wisconsin. In the winter, she paints in her new home studio on the high desert near Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Statement:

My mission in my art is to create beauty. I want to be surrounded by beauty and happiness. I paint my surroundings minimalistic and abstract but always with intentional decisions.
